18 Mile Ranch rests on Canadian Gold Rush History

Group of men working on construction or mining site, using shovels and other tools, with a trench filled with water and rocky terrain in background.

Step into history at 18 Mile Ranch, where the echoes of the 1858 BC Gold Rush still whisper through the land. Once traversed by 30,000 gold miners in search of fortune, this historic property holds the very trails that led pioneers to the legendary Barkerville. Walk the original mining road, where miners, horses, and cattle once tread, or venture to the remnants of an 1880s Chinese gold mine, where artifacts from a bygone era still remain. These storied trails, just steps from the farmhouse, offer a rare and immersive journey through Canada's rich past—perfect for history enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.

With 220 acres of breathtaking wilderness, adventure awaits at every turn!

Beyond the historic hiking trails, enjoy exclusive access to a private beach on the Fraser River—perfect for beachside bonfires and sizzling BBQs under the open sky. Immerse yourself in nature with unparalleled wildlife watching, where you might spot majestic deer, playful coyotes, diverse birdlife, and even the occasional black bear—from a safe and awe-inspiring distance. For those who love the water, cast a line and experience some of the best fishing right from the river’s edge. Whether you seek adventure, relaxation, or a little bit of both, this ranch offers the ultimate escape into nature.

“Recently built ranch, with ample spaces and modern decor with attention to detail. Beautiful windows and terraces overlooking the Fraser River. Kitchen and bathrooms equipped with every comfort. Private beach on the river that we reached on foot. A special thank you to Ross for his kindness and availability (he provided us with walkie talkies for the descent to the river and then came to pick us up for the climb home).
    Unforgettable stay!”

  • Jocelyn

“Adrienne and Ewan's place is wonderful and has incredible views. The pictures don't do the view justice. The house has been recently renovated from top to bottom. Nice details such as heated bathroom floors and the views from the bedrooms are amazing with comfortable beds. The kitchen has everything you need. Ewan greeted us and was so kind and helpful with the house. He also had a fire going for us when we got there! A lovely, unique and peaceful setting!”
